Callisto is the third largest moon in the solar system and is heavily cratered indicating an age of about 4 billion years. The color imagery from the Galileo satellite was combined with the imagery from Voyager 1 and 2 to create the spectacular image mosaic in striking detail. The ancient landforms are primarily craters and ice which may cover liquid water at extreme depths. The imagery of Callisto includes the latest nomenclature and physiographic labels.
